Melanie Wyatt-Davis

Melanie Wyatt-Davis, a proud Polk County native, is the esteemed owner and instructor of Fight Until the Finish – Personal Safety & Firearms Training. Her extensive experience in law enforcement includes a tenure as a deputy sheriff and crime prevention specialist with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, where she served under the guidance of Sheriff Grady Judd.

Her personal life is deeply entwined with her professional life as she is married to Captain Larry Davis, another respected member of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Melanie’s academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida Southern College, underpinning her strong administrative and organizational skills.

Melanie’s professional passion lies in education. She delights in introducing individuals to the world of firearms, imparting knowledge on gun safety with the perfect blend of professionalism and personal touch.

Expanding her passion into an innovative business venture, Melanie recently unveiled an indoor training facility located in Haines City. The facility offers an array of services including reality-based training through the Gun Fighter Pro Simulator and Simunition training. Additionally, she provides gun cleaning classes, concealed carry weapon (CCW) training, personal safety courses, and tailor-made one-on-one training sessions, offering a comprehensive learning experience for all.

At Fight Until the Finish, we’re committed to promoting safety, awareness, and readiness. Our diverse courses are tailored to empower clients with essential self-defense skills and knowledge. From basic safety principles to advanced tactical training, we prepare you to confidently and competently navigate any situation.

Larry Davis

Larry “Catfish” Davis brings a wealth of knowledge to the field of firearms training, boasting a background rich in varied experiences. His journey began with hunting, further honed by a six-year stint in the United States Army. Today, Larry holds the rank of Captain at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, serving as the Northeast District commander in Davenport, Florida.

His impressive tenure with the Sheriff’s Office spans 23 years, punctuated by roles in various leadership capacities. As a testament to his tactical skills, he spent a decade on the PCSO SWAT team and now serves as the Tactical Commander for the agency’s Emergency Operations Group.

A committed lifelong learner, Larry has pursued academia parallel to his career, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Organization Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Warner University.

In his role, Captain Davis dedicates himself to ensuring his team delivers unparalleled customer service to their community. Beyond his primary duties, he is also a certified Firearms Instructor through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, an agency instructor, and an adjunct instructor for Polk State College Law Enforcement Academy.

In his free time, Larry imparts his extensive knowledge in firearms through various courses at Fight Until the Finish, specializing in personal safety and firearms training. His commitment to safety, service, and education is unwavering, making him a vital part of the Fight Until the Finish team.
